High in the Andean villages of Quispicanchis Province near Cusco the communities scratch a living from farming the steep hillsides. With limited opportunities to make ends meet mean day to day living is a real struggle.
For the last 15 years, village women in an area known as C’catca have been working with the Sisters of the Good Shepherd, to produce beautiful products from natural fibres. Project Agustina Rivas helps to improve the quality of life for these communities through learning new skills and making a regular income. The project is also helping to maintain the rich diverse textile culture that Andean communities are famous for. Llamarama is proud to work with these communities who have persevered with their craft to make top quality, soft stylish products.
